The first time I scrolled through the marketplace of Fiverr, I was astonished by the range of its eclectic offerings. Imagine an exotic, cyber bazaar filled with vendors hawking their wares and you'll have a bit of the flavor of Fiverr.
The site is primarily used by freelancers who offer a variety of different services called ‘gigs’ whose only commonality is that their price starts at $5. The gigs posted can be as mundane as producing a rubber address stamp to the more imaginative birthday messages provided by men in spandex, thongs and wooly hats.
But there is also a wealth of business support available - especially for those of us on a tight budget. Have you a project that requires graphic skill? Need 300 words translated into Swedish? Help with tech support? Or a tedious job that must be completed?
Then see if there is a match for you on Fiverr. It just might be the place to outsource all those little jobs that can add up to big headaches.
Of course, you have to consider the old adage - you get what you pay for. Fiverr results can sometimes be a mixed bag. With some gigs you’ll be disappointed, others pleasantly surprised. So you have to choose wisely. Read the reviews carefully and note what is promised to be delivered.
But with the price being only a Fiverr, you haven’t much to lose but maybe a lot to gain.
